Stone Sculptures on the 28th August Square, 2014
To make a long story short: there was a commission for three sculptures for the newly renovated square, and I applied together with Matej Župec. The committee selected my idea, and we later carved the pieces between February and April 2014. We were there on installation day, and we had a formal unveiling. The pieces are still there.
Before this commission, I had only been working with (small pieces of) stone for two years. Matej had even less experience (he’s actually a photographer), but he also documented the process and made a nice video about it.
A big thanks goes to Matej and Damjan. I still don’t really know how we did it, but we did. And I am very happy and grateful that we had that opportunity.
